The story behind Battery Sink
I went fully wireless, then realized how many batteries I was trying to keep track of. Between all the devices in my setup, I never had a clear picture of what needed charging. Too often, a device would die right when I needed it most.
I couldn’t find an app that worked the way I needed, so I decided to build one for myself. That became Battery Sink: one place to see my devices’ battery levels and get an alert when something needs charging.
It turned out so well that I didn’t want to keep it to myself. I decided to bring it to the App Store for anyone facing the same everyday problem.
One beautifully simple view of your devices and compatible accessories.
For iPhone, iPad, Mac & Apple Watch
Android, Windows & Linux support coming soon.
Good questions. Simple answers.
Your iPhone and iPad, a Mac’s internal battery, and Apple Watch through its companion app. Accessories from other brands are supported too: many Bluetooth LE mice, keyboards, game controllers, and some headphones can share their battery readings with Battery Sink. Apple Magic Keyboard, Mouse, and Trackpad connected to a Mac are supported as well.
AirPods, Beats, and most classic Bluetooth headphones don’t expose their battery readings to third-party apps, so they aren’t supported.
Android, Windows, and Linux support is coming soon. The current app is designed for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch; Android, Windows, and Linux apps aren’t available yet.
Apps sync while running and request background updates. Apple controls when iPhone, Watch, and widget background refreshes happen, so readings can be delayed. Battery Sink shows when a device was last seen and marks stale readings offline.
Create an account on your first device, then use its private code to connect your other devices. Your readings sync through the Battery Sink service. Your Apple Watch uses its paired iPhone’s connection.
Keep your account code safe: there’s no recovery service for a lost code. You can delete your account and its stored data in the app’s settings.
iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, macOS 14 or later, and watchOS 10 or later. An internet connection is needed to sync readings between devices. The Watch companion requires a paired iPhone.
Battery Sink is coming soon to the App Store. Downloads aren’t available yet. The App Store link and pricing will appear here when the app launches.
